The 486 Catholic Canonized Saints and Blessed
of Asia
Saints are the best proclaimers of the Gospel as they
proclaim Jesus best, because witness of life is the most effective,
the most powerful way of preaching Gods Word. Asian Saints is
the Gospels best proclaimer for fellow Asians in our time. It
has a mission for each of us and we have so much to learn from it.

Dialogue
Resource Manual for Catholics in Asia
From Office of Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs
FABC
192 pp. PhP249,
$ 18.95
One can assume that these members of the faithful
have little knowledge about the Church's teachings and that they
probably have never heard of Nostra Aetate, let alone understand
or subscribe to its teachings. In fact, even some of our own priests
and other pastoral leaders are not familiar with documents such
as Dialogue and Mission or with the FABC's Theology
of Harmony. Hence, we have to admit that there is indeed a
gap between what the FABC and the Church in Asia is saying about
interreligious dialogue and what is actually happening at the
grassroots levels.
The publication of this Resource Manual, therefore, attempts
to address this issue and hopefully, will play a small role in
bridging the gap between the theory and the practice. Specifically,
the Resource Manual contains all sorts of materials which
could be used for the education and formation of persons for interreligious
dialogue.

At
the Side of the Multitudes:
The
Kingdom of God and the Mission of the Church in the FABC Documents
by
Miguel Marcelo Quatra, o.m.i.
No. 848-3 244 pp, PhP199, U$
14.95
This book masterfully
presented, emerges from an assiduous study of the FABC experience.
It captures and expresses the FABC vision, particularly on Kingdom
and Mission. Without doubt, this opus flows from the mind and heart
of an evangelizer whose life is given completely to mission- in
vision of FABC. (James H. Kroeger, mm) Mission

Like His Brothers and Sisters:
Ordaining Community Leaders
by F. Lobinger
No.
759-2220 pp.,
PhP169, U$ 16.95
This book is
about the proposed ordination of proven leaders of Catholic communities.
Our priests of today are human beings like all of us, but they are
dissimilar. They do not live from the work of their hands. They
do not have families. Must all ordained leaders be of that kind?
Could we introduce a second kind of priest who is living in a way
similar to the rest of the community? Question such as these are
at the heart of this study.
