Mission to Mindanao (1859-1900)
Translated by Peter Schreurs, msc from the Spanish of Pablo Pastells, sj

This is a story that needs to be retold, but will have to be continued now, no more in the same style and with the same visions as those of the foreign missionaries in the past, but never without the self-effacing animation of the dramatis personae. The translator considers it an honor to have been their and Pastells' mouthpiece in the hope that often archaic sounding material (raw material in a way), of a kind so often encountered in "primary" documentation, may be of service to many for studying and writing a modern (church) history of Mindanao, in general, or of regions and towns in particular.

For all the Peoples of Asia

Asia gathers together all the more important texts issued by assemblies, conferences and consultations of the Federation of Asian Bishops' Conferences (FABC) in the first 21 years of its existence. Though generally dealing with pastoral and missionary rather than doctrinal concerns, a remarkable theological vision emerges from these documents, one marked with great breadth, hope and courage: on "ecclesiology of the Asian churches" which challenges theologians as well as leaders of Christian communities.
