Sunday April 23
Once again, the Gospel today has two scenes. The first is called the Pentecost of John: on the evening of Easter, the risen Christ is with the disciples and the symbolic gesture of 'blowing' opens the door to a new life, and he urges his disciples to form a humanity free from sin and grounded in the Spirit. The second scene refers to the response of the Risen Lord to doubting Thomas, who acknowledges and professes renewed faith in Jesus as his Lord and his God. Hopefully, like Thomas, we can go beyond the fragility of the doubt.
